Popcorn & Limited Thinking

YES, I LOVE POPCORN!!

(Important New Year’s Message for you from me below)

Popcorn is the ultimate snack (that is what I believe). It brings back memories of when I was a child and on the weekend our family would always have one night when we would have popcorn and play games.

We actually continued this right up until present day – yes – at 50 when I went to stay with my parents for the weekend we would still have popcorn and game night (as adults, usually cards). It was fantastic! Even the years my dad was not well, he would still make it to the dinning room table to nibble on some of the popcorn and play cards with us.

My dad loved to win. He didn’t like to lose – he wasn’t really the best loser. My mom and I are not competitive at all and really don’t take games seriously. Which drove my dad and sister crazy!

Funny, even when my daughter was young, my dad would never let her win. If she lost, she lost. So funny!

All the years my daughter was growing up when we went to visit my parents on the weekend she would look so forward to popcorn and game night.

I was a single mother continued the tradition but changed it up a bit. On the weekends my daughter and I would have popcorn and movie night. To do this day – I usually always have popcorn on Friday night.

Popcorn is great because you can flavour it hundreds of ways. I used to only do butter and salt and now each time I change it up.

The picture above is popcorn (organic) sprinkled with:

  • Melted coconut oil, turmeric, paprika, salt, pepper and nutritional yeast.

Other suggestions are:

  • Melted coconut oil, apple cider vinegar and salt, nutritional yeast

  • Melted coconut oil lime juice (from real lime), salt, paprika

  • Melted coconut oil, lime juice, chilli powder, paprika, salt, nutritional yeast

  • Melted coconut oil, salt, pepper, nutritional yeast

  • Extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, nutritional yeast, turmeric

Any way you like it flavoured it is a great snack. Use your imagination and come up with something you will love.

Another thing I make sure to do is I make a big batch and then I have some to snack on the next day too.

NEW YEAR – New Beginnings, Ditch the Limited Thinking!

I love beginnings and starts and new years. I love the excitement of thinking that my whole life can change so much in 1 year. I have some great things planned for this year and am very excited.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

I hope you do believe that anything is possible. That you can really do and have what you want – at least start on it and take steps towards it.

I know this can seem hard to believe when society is full of limited thinkers and people who believe (and convince you to believe) that you are limited, “that it is not possible for you to do that, to have that”. “Why should you want it? Can’t you just be happy with what you have?”

I grew up with limited thinking and it has affected me to this day but I have decidedĀ NO MORE!!!
