This is a topic close to my heart. I had gained weight in my mid 40′s and I had never had to worry about weight before. I was exercising and eating what I thought was a healthy diet but it wasn’t the “RIGHT” diet for me anymore.
That is most often the case for women when they hit their 40′s.
I found what worked for me – I lost weight when most women my age gain weight and……I have kept it off!
Yes, it CAN be done. I know now it can but I tell you when I was going through it, reading about it, researching it (the perimenopause and hormonal changes) so much of what I read said that weight gain is a definite and something that you just have to put up with.
If you are not in your 40′s yet or in your early 40′s – WORKING ON CHANGING WHAT YOU EAT NOW before it gets harder and harder to do and before you are fighting the weight gain.
Now, weight gain – ok, I am not saying you have to be thin or anything – but….I believe in eating for health, for quality of life and at that time my health wasn’t that great either.
Besides the weight gain, I was also experiencing digestive distress, emotional ups and downs, acid reflux and hot flashes. Ya, a lot to deal with.
All that led me to raw foods and a higher raw diet which got rid of my digestive problems, acid reflux and I lost weight without even trying. I was LOVING the food!!! Loving the creativity.
I am not all raw or even high raw right now but I still believe in the recipes and being dairy and gluten free.
Your video for How-To-Thursday is talking about how not to gain weight in your 40′s, why your diet needs to change and a RECIPE VIDEO using buckwheat (which is something you can and should include)
