I have been working away at the raw and vegan restaurant in Naniamo called Rawmbas and it has been a great experience. I love meeting the people and making the food. I love creating have never had a job where the day has gone so fast before.
It is also cool hearing what people say when they try the raw food for the first time. Like our great raw pizza or raw falafel wrap.
I am getting back to teaching raw food classes which I love – I love instructing and educating, I really do so time to get back at it.
I have a Raw Food Level II class scheduled for this weekend – Sunday, September 18th. It is for someone who may have attended a Level I class and has some knowledge about raw food recipes and food prep but wants to learn more and we will focus on dehydrators and coming up with your own recipes, sprouting and how to plan for a week of healthy eating. If you are interested in attending this session, please contact me ASAP.
Often during my raw food classes people ask what I eat during a normal day. I thought I would add that to this blog post. So I will list what I ate today. I am not 100% raw – I have been very close in the past but probably am about 75% raw on average and some days much higher.
WHAT I ATE TODAY
- Warm water with organic lemon juice
- Beet/carrot/cucumber/celery/apple juice
- Grapefruit with chia gel
- Blackberries with Nutra-Cleanse, coconut chips, raw granola & some maple syrup with a bit of almond milk
- Salad with cabbage, parsley, bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and some quinoa. Raw crackers with my homemade pesto and salsa
- Sauteed veggies: Cabbage, garlic, ginger, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, swiss chard. Raw crackers with garden tomato and avocado
- Raw chocolate truffle and some organic dark chocolate
That is what I ate today. Everyday is different but I can go through days and weeks eating a lot of the same things. I LOVE my big salads at lunch – those usually stay all year long. I don’t really stress about how much or how little I eat every day because I feel it evens out. Some days I am hungrier than other days. Some days I am really busy and don’t have much time to eat and other days I am not busy and seem to snack all day.
I am disciplined in the way that I eat things in moderation. Things like chocolate, peanut butter, organic free-trade coffee, popcorn. I eat these things but in moderation, same with high fat foods.
I also believe that each person has to find what works best for their body. I tried eating a high fruit diet but it did not work for me. A diet high in veggies is great for me and when I feel my best.
I focus on eating and being healthy. What foods contribute to my health.
Try writing down what you eat a few days in a row. It is interesting to see what you actually eat, how much and when and to become conscious about what you putting into your body and how it can affect it.
Thanks so much for giving this a read and…..
