APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND HONEY


Winnie the Pooh had it right when he was eating golden raw honey. I use it instead of any other kind of sweetener because I love the flavor.

There are so many great benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and Raw Honey and I will cover a few in this post today.

Why today? Well, today I did a liquid fast. I didn’t eat any solid food. I was eating some food I shouldn’t eat lately and just wasn’t feeling very good so I wanted a nice, clean and light day to give my digestive system a break. (I did this for 2 days!)

I always start my day with warm water and a bit of organic lemon. This is great for digestion.

I wasn’t quite ready for a water fast so I chose to do juices as well.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR & HONEY DRINK

A drink I love and have had a few times today is warm water, raw honey and apple cider vinegar (Braggs raw and unpasteurized). I love the taste of apple cider vinegar (a good one that is) so how I mixed it was:

  • 8 oz of water 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp (probably a little more) of Braggs apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp of raw honey

This is so good! I was very satisfied with this drink this morning. This is also great for a sore throat.

I get my honey from a local source here in Nanaimo called Frederichs Honey. It does not state raw or unpasteurized but it is. I looked into it and talked to them. I believe getting local good honey is key.

BENEFITS OF RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY

(This info is on raw unpasteurized honey – not the highly processed honey)

  • Anti-Bacterial, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory
  • Vitamins: A, C, D, E, K, all the B-complex vitamins and Beta-Carotene
  • Minerals: Magnesium, sulfur, phosphorus, iron, calcium, potassium, iodine, sodium, copper and manganese

Raw honey contains live enzymes (these help your body break down foods and undigested particles).

The rapid absorption of honey monosacharides, and the slower metabolism of fructose content make honey a popular source of energy for athletes, particularly endurance athletes.

Honey is composed primarily of carbohydrates (natural sugars) and water, as well as trace enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. 1 Tsp of honey is about 21 calories full of nutrients and all natural.

I love honey and use it often. But like everything – use moderation and a good raw honey.

Even as a young child I loved vinegar. I used to drink it right out of the vinegar decanter my mom had. And that was regular white vinegar!!! Yuck, can’t imagine that now. Once I found Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar – I was hooked again. Like anything – use in moderation.

Apple cider vinegar is great in salad dressings and sauces.

Below are some benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with 4 oz of water after a meal is a natural remedy for heartburn
  • I use 1 tsp of ACV in 4 oz of water before a meal – if I don’t have digestive enzymes

I have been taking apple cider vinegar and honey for awhile, now… I have noticed it makes me lose weight gradually, I also feel better and more energetic.
Also, I learned lately that iodine is very important in the body to fight cancer naturally. Since what causes us to get cancer, is simply having a very low immune system, and our bodies cannot fight the cancer cells, it is usually caused by a lack of nutrition. Honey has iodine in it. Salt can be bought with iodine, but it is in a very small amount, so it does not give you enough. Raw
vinegar and raw honey are two ingredients that go well together. The raw unfiltered and unprocessed vinegar has the enzymes for a healthy body, and the honey gives you extra nutrition, especially natural healthy mineral substances. Honey has iodine, and potassium, and many other good things for your body to work as it should, and keep you healthy.

Saw a recipe similar, and love it. It is water, Apple cider vinegar, raw honey, lemon juice and cinnamon. Tastes great.
