HEALTHY SNACKS AND FOODS FOR CHILDREN becoming harder to find

Grocery store shelves are full of pakcaged snacks and foods marketed to children. Just watching TV for a short time and you will see dozens of ads of easy, fast, snacks and meals you can prepare for your children or add to their lunch. These are packaged, over-processed, full of dyes and chemicals and very harmful to kids.

INFORMATION ON THE AFFECTS OF NUTRITION ON THE BEHAVIOR OF CHILDREN

The above picture is from a DVD by Dr Russell Blaylock, MD (his web site link is below).

I would suggest anyone with kids check out the following web site:

http://www.russellblaylockmd.com/

Russell Blaylock, MD is a board certified Neuro Surgeon, author and lecturer. He attended the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and the Medical University of South Carolina. During residency he ran the neurology progrm for one year and did a fellowship in neurosurgery after his residency. For the past 25 years, he has practiced neurosurgery in addition to having a nutrtional practice (to me, this is amazing!). He recently retired from both practices to devote full time to nutritional studies and research. THIS IS SOMEONE TO FOLLOW AND LISTEN TO. If you want proof, he has proof. If you want science, he has the science – THERE ARE NOW – NO EXCUSES – you must believe that:

WHAT CHILDREN ARE FED DOES AFFECT THEIR HEALTH AND THEIR BEHAVIOR

The below exert is from his web site about the DVD pictured above (that can be purchased for only $20.00 from his web site AND you can also view the trailer to the DVD on his web site listed above).

In this informative video, neurosurgeon and author, Dr Russell Blaylock explains one of the most important connections between nutrition and our health – how nutrition affects our behavior. Citing series of important studies on both jubeniles and adults, he shows that good nutrition can powerfully enhance our memory, mood, and behavior in a world of violence, crime, depression and suicide. Most importantly, Dr Blaylock outlines specific measures you can take to protect your children from these detrimental effects, and demonstrates that it is never too late to make these nutritional changes.

My daughter is 21 years old and does not live with me anymore but I wish I knew all I know now when she was growing up because I would have changed so many things. Start young with your kids. When you are the influence and can direct them more easily. They are bombarded with advertisements, candies from friends and at birthday parties and sweets from grandparents who mean well. Our children are becoming addicted to the sugar, the preservatives, the chemicals and the additives at such a young age. If their brain is “like a sponge”, a term used to describe how they can learn so much at such a young age, then we should know that they can also easily abosorb all the toxins from the “fake foods and snacks” they are being fed. You have to know this affects how they develop – it is only common sense.

Please don’t put your head in the sand. Don’t ignore this information because everyone around you is ignoring it. Dare to be different. I know you want your children to be and grow up healthy. Make changes now that will guarantee they will be healthier, happier and more successful than most children around them because you are doing what is best for them as they grow and develop.

I am going to hold a session in Nanaimo, BC in October speaking to parents and children about the affects of nutriton on the health and development of children and we will be preparing some great tasting “kid friendly” healthy foods. Contact me for more information if you are in the area.

ALSO – PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT!! I LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE or any input you may have.
