HOW TO LOWER YOUR RISK OF CANCER
It is no surprise that vegetables are good for you. I still find it funny that studies are being done on this specifically. But….at least they give us reminders that we need to eat more vegetables. A study has been done showing (by no surprise) that eating a variety of vegetables helps reduce the risk of lung cancer. (All cancers actually but the study focused on lung cancer). They stress “a wide variety” of vegetables because each vegetable contains certain antioxidants and phytochemicals unique to that vegetable.
Below is a link to a video from ABC News about this. I actually like this video because they do talk about the benefits of various vegetables and about the Botanical Families of Vegetables.
Check out he video and pass this along to everyone you know. It is a great reminder and some people need a constant reminder – right??? – we all know people like that. ENJOY!!
PLEASE remember – read ALL labels. No preservatives, food dyes, additives, sugar, etc. I was at a health food store last night and me and a friend were checking out labels on “healthy” snacks – torilla chips, crackers, etc. She was so shocked at how many of these labelled “healthy and organic” contained preservatives and food dyes.
We did find a couple to buy (she was going on a trip and wanted some take-a-long foods).
EAT MORE GOOD - EAT LESS BAD. That is really as simple as it gets!!
